We all wear many hats. For me, some have been NGO project manager, French lecturer, au pair, mom of three homeschooled boys, immigrant, volunteer, literacy promoter, counselor, translator, and chicken lady. I also dance, while I knit my writer's hat, one stitch at a time.

As it happens, under our hats lives a child.

Mine feasts on sunsets and thrives around trees and books, chasing ideas like butterflies.

Arreboles is a beautiful word in Spanish that describes the warm hues at sunset.

Under a flaming evening sky, my younger self heard the word arreboles from my grandma's lips,
and I fell in love with words.
